Script Help

I have built a virtual prototype of my CNC router using the "DigitalSpaces-0[1].9.4-581-PythonBundled-OpenALBundled.exe" installer.  I am currently trying to incorporate a python script for moving some of the components around based on CNC code, but I don't know where to include the script.  Do I save it as a .py file and reference it somehow from the .scene file or do I have to incorporate it with the "DigitalSpaces-Source-0[1].9.4" and "DigitalSpaces-Dependencies-0[1].8.1" and compile a new program.  If anybody has a script that could be run on either of the two mining pit tutorials that would be helpful to see how it works.

You save it as a .py file and reference it in the .space file. You insert into the .space file:

We don't have anything examples using script in the pit mining environment. We've got some other spaces, I'll have to check which ones make a good tutorial. Also, don't forget to look at http://www.digitalspaces.net/wiki/index.php/Documentation/Tutorials .

Thanks for the help, but I have now run into another problem.  I have defined a list "GantryList to store the location of of the gantry list at a certain time and I can manually change the position value and it will move to that position in the table.  But when I try to implement an increment of the position value it won't move to the new value.  I have tried implementing it in the def PerformHeartbeat by using self.position = self.position + 1.  I have tried making a new def increment function using the previous code and I have tried it before and after the moveNode.PerformHeartbeat () call.  Does anybody have any clue what I am doing wrong?  Or what I can do to get this simulation running?   Here is the code I am using to try to move the node.

Putting
self.position = self.position + 1
or
self.position += 1

in PerformHeartbeat should work. However, you need to keep in mind that there are 100 heartbeats per second, and the graphics renderer does not try to render every one of them. So it may be moving, but you never see it.

Perhaps something like:
Added to init:

Added to PerformHeartbeat:
self.heartbeatCount += 1
if self.heartbeatCount > 100
    self.heartbeatCount = 0
    self.position += 1


That way, self.position would only be incremented every second, and make the effect much more visible.

I figured out that I had the moveNode = NodeMover ("gantry") on the same level as the moveNode.performHeartbeat, so I was running the initialization every time and resetting my value back to zero.  Oh what frustration a little indention can make.  Thanks for all your help and quick responses.

Thanks for your help, but I've come across another problem now. I have a list set to "save GantryList position on the gantry in a given list, and I can manually change the value and move to position the location of the table. But when I try to also take this position does not value the new value.
